About Aisha K.

Aisha Yousafzai’s work is situated in the broader context of child health and development, particularly among children growing up in highly disadvantaged circumstances and who are at risk for failing to meet their developmental potential. Her work is international with a special focus on south Asia and east Africa. She examines both child development and systems as a whole, specifically showing how interventions that can promote early childhood development can be mainstreamed effectively into existing systems. Her work employs implementation research methods to address questions that matter for policy and programmes. She also serves on a number of Advisory Groups on early child development for international organizations including UNICEF and the Early Childhood Development Action Network and is a member of the Advisory Board for Kidogo, a childcare organization based in Kenya.
