About Selva

Selva Gürdoğan is an architect and co-founder of Superpool, an architecture and urban design practice based in Istanbul and Copenhagen. She graduated with the Medal of Excellence from SCI-Arc in 2003 and began her career at the Office for Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam and New York. She later co-directed Studio-X Istanbul (2013–2019) and taught at the Architectural Association in London (2019–2022). Since 2017, she has led and advised on numerous public initiatives for children and caregivers within the Urban95 framework of the Van Leer Foundation, collaborating with city administrations in Türkiye, Jordan, Ethiopia, and Zambia. Across geographies, her work focuses on redesigning everyday urban environments to make cities more supportive and joyful for the people who use them.
