Dr. Rose Atieno Opiyo is a distinguished Early Childhood Development specialist and passionate nurturing care advocate transforming foundational learning across East Africa. As Senior Lecturer , Academic and Researcher Leader at Masinde Muliro University, she champions inclusive, equity-driven approaches ensuring every child—especially the most vulnerable—thrives. A Post-Doctoral Fellow with ISSBD/Jacobs Foundation and Carnegie Africa Diaspora Fellow, Dr. Opiyo exemplifies research leadership, securing over KSH 32 million in competitive funding. Her groundbreaking work includes publications in Early Childhood Matters (UNICEF/Bernard van Leer Foundation) addressing children with incarcerated parents. With 30+ influential publications and extensive training of educators across Kenya, she bridges rigorous scholarship with grassroots impact, shaping policies that prioritize holistic child development.
