About Daanish

Daanish Masood Alavi makes invisible patterns visible when stakes are highest. Over two decades, he has detected resource conflicts months before violence, built consensus frameworks between US and Chinese AI leaders during peak tensions, and deployed real-time decision systems in conflict contexts. He co-developed CODA, a pluralistic AI alignment framework reviewed by the heads of OpenAI, DeepMind and Microsoft. At the United Nations (2007–2024), he pioneered operational AI in conflict zones, co-leading the Innovation Cell within the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs. His diplomatic credentials include shuttle diplomacy to de-escalate the 2017 Kurdistan crisis; Security Council negotiations establishing mechanisms to document ISIL atrocity crimes in Iraq; and managing a multi-million-dollar portfolio at the UN Secretary-General’s Alliance of Civilizations.
