About Lucy

Dr Lucy Earle is the director of the Human Settlements Group at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) in London. She also leads the Institute’s research and policy engagement on urban crises and forced displacement. Prior to joining IIED, she was an urban adviser at the UK’s Department for International Development. Lucy has a PhD in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and undertook postdoctoral research at the African Centre for Cities, University of Cape Town.
