About Abbie

Abbie Raikes, PhD., MPH, is a professor at the College of Public Health, University of Nebraska Medical Center and Director, Center for Global Health and Development. Dr. Raikes’ recent work has focused on improving early childhood development for children in vulnerable settings. Previously Abbie held roles at the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO) in Paris and the Gates Foundation. Abbie has served on several boards, including the Omaha Children’s Museum, the Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative, Creighton Preparatory School, ChildFund International and the Gretchen Swanson Center for Nutrition.
